Absolutely the best place I’ve been in the Outer Banks and it’s not close! The ladies that run this place and keep the history alive are amazing and charming and know their stuff!! They’ve lived it, they’ve learned it, and they are the most fun to talk to! Recommend coming here whether you’re passing through or you live here, you’re never too young or old to learn and have a great time. This place made my trip!

Our guide was an extremely knowledgeable older gentleman whose sister attended the school at one point. It was great hearing about the beautiful history of the individuals who helped built the school, taught there and attended. My husband and I had a great time! It was an unexpected visit but one I won't forget!

A great stop for those with a passion for history. The hosts were very sweet. The tour is at your pace and self guided. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to enjoy the school. It's very informative and a great example of preservation.

The ladies there were absolutely wonderful. Sweet Adeline and Di - made history come alive in this eye opening museum of our not so distant past. Great place to stop and gain some knowledge, also grab a cook book or mug!
